Find Your Story
In the interview, I love what Ricky shared with us about his teacher’s view of the 3 Testaments. The First Testament, which is about Adam and Eve and all those through Malachi. The Second Testament is about Jesus and the Disciples. Then, there is the Third Testament, Your Testament. It is the story about what God is doing in your life. It’s your witness of him being alive today and wanting to interact and reach those around you.
Earlier in the conversation, Ricky talked about keeping ourselves open to all that God is doing. He compared this to a tree. We can walk right by that tree and say, “nice tree.” Or we can be amazed at how that tree that God made, takes in dangerous carbon monoxide and turns it into the oxygen we can breathe to live.
That made me think of each of us. We are like the tree. People can walk by us and say, “hmm, another person, or my friend Bruce.” Or, they could walk by and see a person, fallen, who has taken in the life of Christ and allowed him to put out an aroma of life-changing love. This caused me to stop and think about my story and how I’m letting God develop it, or not. I feel challenged to have my life developed and for others to see God work within me.
