Rosa Parks: Beyond the Bus

“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule…” (Gen. 1.26 NIV)

In spite of the world’s view, God didn’t create us to rule over one another, but to rule together. This mission has never changed and will be fulfilled in the coming Kingdom of Heaven. This is why it is repeated in the Great Commission in Matthew 28.19: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,…”

It is why Peter in ! Peter 2.9 NIV, says: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light”

And Paul says: “Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!” (1 Cor. 6.3 NIV)

And as the Bible ends: “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes…” (Revelations 7.9 NIV)

“And from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1.5,6 NIV)

There is no back of the bus in Christianity. In contrast to the world, we are to be unified in serving the Lord together now and, praise the Lord, he will give us all purpose by serving him together in the Kingdom of Light. Amen!
