Jesus and Women

“26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is [a]neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you [b]belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s [c]descendants, heirs according to promise.” (Galatians 3 NASB)

We are all equal in Christ. I believe God has us take on different roles in society for the sake of order and to express something about the way he works. Father, Son, Spirit, all one, all God and yet they take on different roles and are obedient to one another because they know they don’t see each other as less or one more significant then the other.

Niamh, has an evolutionary background and views the work God has done in creation through that lens and passes on what she sees as tying women’s roles and strength into the church. No matter your beliefs, it is well worth understanding her thoughts and conclusions. It is obvious from Jesus’ view there is no “weaker” sex in terms of character or position in the Kingdom. And notice Paul calls all who inherit the Kingdom as “Sons.” I do not think that is a sexual designation, but a title. Sons inherit. All Sons. All of Abraham’s seed.
