The Most Reluctant Convert: The Untold Story of C.S. Lewis

I have a friend who became a Christian in High School. A local youth group had reached out to his friend to attend a retreat, hoping to win him to Christ. The friend asked my friend to go and keep him company. The group was not too happy to have this well known trouble maker at their retreat. Yet only one of those two left the retreat a Christian. My friend. At last check, the other guy never gave it another thought.

This story has come up again and again in my life. Who around me are the reluctant, non-caring, good guys and troublemakers who’s hearts are ripe for planting a seed? Whether I see the results is not important, though it is always a blessing.

Thank the Lord that others were there for CS Lewis. People to guide him through the confusion of his past experiences and versed enough to salt their words with the truth of God. We all have that ability. We are the Lord’s representatives of redemption. As you walk out the door today, think about those around you and how you can influence their eternal destination, and, the effect they have on others in this world, whether a CS Lewis or not.

Does the name Edward Kimball sound familiar? Probably not. But thank God he told little DL Moody how much God loved him.
