Who's Your Jesus?

That powerful question Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do you say I am?” Peter nails it.  “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Amen.

Though Peter had it right, there was much he and the others had to learn about what that meant. Just like them, we fall in love with our Savior and want to know him better. A big part of that transformation to become like him is making sure we stay open to understanding the totality of who he is. We want to reflect the right Jesus to a world that needs him. Sometimes that is interrupted by our perception of Jesus based upon our personal background, culture, and biases.

Bob’s message is so important today especially considering the negative view Christianity can have in our culture. Listen to what he says, read what he has written and take those points as a way to challenge any misconceptions you have. Just like the disciples who thought Jesus was going to set things right by a takeover. They learned his plan was a take over through sacrifice and new birth to change people’s hearts. Where might we need a correction in how he is working in our lives today as well as our culture?
