Never Give Up on Your Dreams
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16.3)
“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37.4)
“Never Give Up on Your Dreams.” But what if our dreams aren’t God’s dreams for us? What if we are pursuing things selfishly? What if I’m just not sure or I don’t believe God will empower me to do it?
All the questions we can throw up against Keith-alan’s phrase is answered by the two similar verses above. If we willingly seek God’s direction, power, wisdom, then he will show us the way. If there is a correction, he will lay it on our heart. A new direction, he will show us the path. If we lack something, he will help us find and apply what we are missing. If motives are wrong, giving ourselves over to him will bring a recognition of who really gave us what we have and who is in control.
Many times, I have felt like what I want couldn’t be what God wants. I’ve come to learn that many times it is God who has put that desire in and on my heart. My job is to commit it to him, to see how he best knows to fulfill that desire, based upon the gifts, talent, time and situation of my life. “Never Give Up on Your Dreams” unless God specifically blocks them. If he does, know it is out of love and that wherever that leads you to will be amazing.
