Distraction Detox - Billie Jauss

Oh how (squirrel) hard it would (squirrel) be to read a post if (squirrel) we wrote like (squirrel) some of us (squirrel) think!

Ugh! Yet, many of us struggle internally with keeping our thoughts on God, his view of us and the world around us, and not losing what he is building in us: a renewed mind. One that continues growing to think like Jesus and that guides us to the actions that our Lord would have taken in a given situation.

These distractions, brought on by our flesh - sinful human nature that is self centered, our enemy and the world, the organized part that feeds our self-centeredness, set themselves up against what Paul commends to us in 2 Corinthians 10.5:

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

There is no getting past that Paul tells us this is a battle. His words are put into a military context of a battle. We need to verify and compare what we believe, tell ourselves and hear from others as well as the world system to God’s word. As our loving Father, he wants us to live a fulfilling life (John 10.10 - “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”) The call here is for discipline and alertness. To know your Bible and to take these thoughts to the Lord so he can help separate the right from the wrong, and you can build a stronger fortress to protect the thinking God wants to create inside of you.

Billie’s book helps us detox the areas that keep us confused so we can begin to trust a process to be successful in our campaign to regain and maintain a renewed mind. The mind is the core that the enemy wants to penetrate and under-mind all that you do and keep you off the path God has set before you. So please, take advantage of Billie’s experiences and insights to help you back to experiencing the kind of life the Lord desires for you and each one of us.
