Your Story Is Not Done

When we read Ephesian 2.10 this is what we normally see:

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

What a great picture of how God is working in us and how he has given us purpose in life! What we may miss, due to translations, is the nuances of how beautiful and person Paul wrote this verse. Therefore, I wanted to use the Passion Translation listed below:

“We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!”

Wow, we are God’s poetry to a lost world! That is the Greek word that Paul uses. And God has set up stanzas to be completed as we move through life. Though we may miss some or many of those, God still turns our life story into beautiful poetry. Poetry is attractive and wooing. Your Story Is Not Done!
