“How’s your prayer life?” He said to himself. “Not what it should be,” I said, “ok, far from where I want it to be.”
If you are like me or not, we all know many of us struggle with a consistent, deep, growing prayer life. This isn’t to beat ourselves, it’s to remind us. Satan wants us to feel guilty, but Satan doesn’t want us to pray because he knows how power prayer truly is.
A couple months back I was praying for a friend. Then I got on a phone call with another friend and asked if she would pray for this person situation also. I had goose bumps. Her strength in prayer was so refreshing. At the end, I told her, jokingly, that I once heard a wise man say that the prayer of a righteous woman could accomplish much! We both laughed, but I was serious. Her prayer strengthen my faith.
But that is not the end. Her prayer was on a Thursday. The following Tuesday, my friend received the answer to that prayer in a surprise way and one that brought more than what was needed. God is gracious. Yep, the prayer of a righteous person to a loving God. The great thing is, in God’s eyes, through Jesus’ death, we are all that righteous person. Let’s trust that next time we go to our Father. Amen?
