Invincible Joy
As Oliver cites 1 Corinthians, in the introduction to his book: “26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him.”
How many of us are? Yet, if we fit this description, we can not boast. It was the Holy Spirit speaking to our souls that reminded me I have so much to be forgiven for and nothing I can give God except to give him back the life he gave me. Out of that grace, all of us become motivated to pass on this Good News to others. We slip, we slide, but Oliver’s encouragement is to go farther and become what God wants you to be and experience the Great Invincible Joy in following God’s vision of you will provide. As Jesus said, to live life and live it fully.
Oliver grew up with nothing, but his faith is infectious. Open his book and let that zeal sink in and then be loosed in your soul!
