Awe in the Old Testament

Plenty of times I have heard that the Old Testament expresses a different God than the one in the New Testament. “They just aren’t compatible.”

We know that is not true and God was working his plan to get us to a point where he could demonstrate that he would sacrifice his own son to solve our problem. As Tremper tells us, it was the balance of his Love and Justice that drew him to God. The balance makes sense and we see in the Old and New Testaments how great and awesome our God is as he becomes the all in all. The Just and Justifier. Needing justice to satisfy our rebellion, but becoming the one who takes the penalty for us and offering a pardon to all who will receive it.

The challenge for me after talking with Tremper is to dig deeper into the Old Testament to better understand Jesus and help others realize the beauty of what he has done.
